Feature Rifle of the Month
Every month (or so) we try to feature an outstanding example of shooting rifles. Here's a great example of a rifle that pushes back the boundaries of mechanical precision coupled with expert craftmanship submitted by one of our professional staff members, Tom Dickson!

Competition Winner

One sharp shooting rifle!

This is one of a pair of rifles Tom campaigned in 2003. He used one for the 100 yard competition and one for the 200 yard competition. Tom did very well with this pair of rifles finishing 10th in the 2-gun grand at the 2003 Super Shoot, winning the 3-gun HV grand at Tacoma, and finishing 2nd for the 3-gun Agg (losing 1st by only 0.0002”)

The stock is our BAT laminated cedar/carbon fiber stock into which Tom fitted a BAT model SB action. The barrel is a Shilen 13.5 twist. The gun weighs in at 10.5 lbs. Most importantly, besides using top-grade components, it takes an gunsmith expert like Tom Dickson at BAT Machine to make this system into an accurate and dependable competition winning gun.
